Thornhedge Inn romantic b&b in bar harbor maine
Amazing breakfasts!

Even in a five star restaurant, I’ve never seen such an impressive breakfast presentation. Andrew is talented, welcoming and patient. ... Not only is it a great place to stay, but, he also knows how to create an immediate sense of community among the guests from the community breakfast table to the evening wine and cheese.

TripAdvisor.com guest review Great place to Stay

Two blocks from the main street, so it is a quick walk to the pier and all the restaurants and shops, but far enough away to be peaceful and quiet. Acadia National Park is only a few minutes away. Beautiful home with enviable antiques. We really enjoyed getting to know Andrew, the host. He is multi-talented, very helpful and knowledgeable about a wealth of subjects. No matter what is going on, he takes the time to visit with his guests and get to know them. We stayed for 5 days and could not have been happier with our residence.

TripAdvisor.com guest review Honeymoon Stay in October

We stayed for our honeymoon at Thornhedge Inn. It was wonderful! Andrew was amazing and gracious; very knowledgeable of the area. The inn itself is beautiful. We were amazed at all of the antiques. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxed and each day started with a wonderful meal prepared by Andrew himself. We’ll definitely be back!

BedAndBreakfast.com guest review Very pleasant experience all around

Andrew is a very accommodating host. The rooms are well taken care of and the breakfast is very nice. He has good advice about restaurants and attractions in the town as well. And cute dog!

BedAndBreakfast.com guest review Wish I could live here

What a wonderful stay! I’m sure I slept with a smile on my face in that comfy bed! The rooms are clean, CLEAN, spacious, and beautiful. And the gourmet breakfasts are served around a huge, beautiful dining room table, where you can talk to other guests, and plan your day. Andy is so knowledgeable about the town, knows all the great places to eat, and has suggestions on things to do in town, in all sorts of weather. In the evening, wine and cheese is set out for the guests where you can chat in the salon, or out on the porch. I’ve smiled ’til my cheeks hurt! Can’t wait to get back!

TripAdvisor.com guest review Comfort and Elegance with Fantastic Breakfasts

We were more than pleased with the beautiful Queen Anne style inn and its large, gracious living room, hall with grand staircase, and dining room. It felt like being a guest in someone’s home 100 years ago. Our basement room was large with a nice sitting area and more light than one would expect. Gourmet breakfasts served by the host were outstanding, and the walk to town very short. We plan to come again.

BedAndBreakfast.com guest review Perfect location and wonderful accommodations

We stayed here for several nights as we enjoyed Acadia and Bar Harbor. The inn exceeded our expectations from the start. The room was bigger than anticipated and cozy. Daily breakfast served was excellent. The innkeeper went out of his way to make you feel welcome. We will definitely return!

TripAdvisor.com guest review Fall spectacular in Bar Harbor

I stayed three nights at Thornhedge Inn and wished I could have stayed longer. This was my first B&B experience and now I’m excited for more. Even coming at the end of the season, Andrew was very friendly and helpful. He offered suggestions for dining that were all excellent. He is very knowledgeable about the area. The morning breakfasts were delicious and always very eye-appealing! His staff was friendly and made you feel welcome. I am already thinking of my return stay.
